BREAKING: Akshay Kumar's next with Jagan Shakti is a big-budget sci-fi entertainer; actor to play a double role

0 votes

Akshay Kumar can easily be considered not only as one of the most successful but also one of the most prolific Bollywood actors today. From action entertainers, to comic capers Kumar has managed to enthral fans with each of his films. Bollywood Hungama was first to reveal that Akshay had signed on his Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti to helm his next.

Bollywood Hungama has now exclusively learnt that the said film will be a science fiction entertainer made on a massive scale. Confirming the same a well-placed source tells us, “After Jagan Shakti’s direction of Mission Mangal, it was an easy choice for Akshay Kumar to rope him in as the director of this new venture. The two of them, Shakti and Kumar have established a working relationship that has paid off in the past so it made the choice of Shakti directing this new venture that much more easier.” Further revealing details of the film the source continues, “Though the film has not yet been titled, it is being said that it will be a science fiction entertainer that will be made on a massive scale. Given the VFX work that will be required for the project, Akshay Kumar is pulling out all stops in terms of budgetary expense.”

If that wasn’t all, our source added a cherry on top of the cake by informing us of what to expect from Akshay Kumar in the film. “Interestingly, the film that Shakti will be directing will feature Akshay Kumar in a double role. Though at the moment details of each of the roles are unavailable, it is safe to say that both roles Kumar will portray in the film are sure to keep fans grinning.”

While currently an official announcement of this new venture is awaited, going by past experiences, Akshay Kumar who has earlier done sci-fi films like Robot 2.0, Action Replayy and others will certainly be a treat to watch in a double role. Besides this, this new venture will also see Akshay playing a double role after quite a while, since his earlier films like Aflatoon, Jai Kishen and Rowdy Rathore featured him in double roles.

As shared earlier, the film will go on floors by the end of 2021 and will release in 2022.

An actor who has 7 confirmed releases, 3 films which he has agreed to do and will announce soon and 2 sequels of his successful franchises, I can't ask for anything more as his fan. He will have to strategically market all his films and space out all his releases. Expecting 5 releases in 2021 and remaining in the later years. He also has his Amazon Web Series which he will shoot for in 2022.

Still he will get trolled by some annoying fans of other actors for some reason. But he is in the best phase of his career now and he should continue to cash in on it.

(I might have forgotten a film of his, whether speculated or announced. It's difficult for anyone to remember his schedule!)

his last sci-fi flick was a one big torment even heavily panned ra one was more ambitious and better than 2.0

still best luck he is the only one whose graph went upwards among all superstars

Its a serious overkill this. Good for his fans though.

I wouldn't say overkill as he does have 4 films in a year every time. He was supposed to have 3 releases this year, then 3 more between Jan to April in 2021. These films were announced before the lockdown. But in this situation, only Laxmii has released so far and no clarity about any release date.

If you notice, during the lockdown only 2 films of his has been announced (Rakshabandhan and Ram Setu), which is very low by his standards. 2 films announced in 8 months. Rest all are speculations or films which haven't been officially announced. I don't think he will think of packing his films in one year. Space it out like he did in 2019 with 4 in a year and he is good till 2022. Even 5 in a year can be manageable for him with a mix of good content and box office returns for every film.

Till theatres open up, ideally he shouldn't announce any more films.
