• Jigarthanda [Kannada - 2016] was the loyal remake of Tamil original. 
• Gaddalakonda Ganesh was more of an Telugu adaptation of the Tamil original. 
• Hindi remake with Akshay Kumar more likely to follow the Telugu version. 
• Unlike Tamil & Kannada versions, Telugu version sold the movie as Varun Tej's film. Probably because he was the bigger star & Tamil actor Atharvaa was making his Telugu debut. Pooja Hegde got the hype as Varun Tej's love interest. 
• Much of the story was moulded to highlight Varun's Gani character in Telugu remake with enough masala elements to please Telugu audience.

Jigarthanda (original) was a good movie aided by superlative performance and technical brilliance. Varun tej's controversial valmiki was a watchable mass entertainer which also managed hit business.
Akki got lucky, he got a better original movie than the one he was doing earlier.
The hero could be Ritesh as he is in the favorite list of NGE and as I don't think they can manage a star hero for hero's role because it's given akki will be given more importance like the telugu version..
So any non star like Ritesh or Saif can do that role.
