Luv Ranjan is doing a movie out of his comfort zone but I'm not sure if he can pull it off and it's a bit difficult to have faith in him as a director for this genre. Remo D'Souza attempted this but we know what happened to his last movie. He could have produced it and hire someone with more experience to direct an Action movie.
Anyway, this is much better news than that horrible rumor regarding Ajay playing a father to Kapoor. That would have been a step down for Ajay when he's not Anil Kapoor who has reached that stage of his career where he can play these type of roles.
