The upcoming romantic Bollywood film ‘Befikre’ featured Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor has completed censor formalities today.Censor board’s eagerly-awaited verdict on the ceaseless smooching spree between Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor in Aditya Chopra’s Befikre is out. The film was certified by the Central Board Of Film Certification on Tuesday with a ‘U/A’ certificate.
For a censor board obsessed with the right length of on-screen kisses, everyone assumed the Ranveer Singh-Vaani Kapoor starrer to be a trial.”No one will get offended while watching the film. The censor board, I think also felt that a 40 kissing scenes is shown with the same kind of warmth as a hug,” added the ‘Lootera’ actor.
CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani explains:
Firstly, there is a difference in the intention and purpose of the kisses in Befikre and the ones you mention in the earlier films(Tamasha, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil). Those earlier kisses were very intimate and sexual in nature , and also shot in lingering close-ups . In Befikre the kisses are used as signs of affection warmth and kinship. And they are not shot in close-ups. That makes a helluva difference in terms of impact.
