"Late last year, Priyadarshan saw Visaranai and was blown away. Two days later he called me to say it was the best film he'd seen in a decade and bought the rights. He will direct and produce the Hindi film himself," asserts Vetrimaaran.

The original was an adaptation of 'Lock up,' a novel by M Chandrakumar, a rickshaw driver from Coimbatore. It's about police brutality, corruption and loss of innocence in the face of injustice. "It's not just a story, Chandrakumar is the face of lakhs of innocents who have faced atrocities in police lockups," Vetrimaaran signs off.

There is no official announcement yet but acc. to some reports akshay sir will attend special screening of visarani in mumbai in a few days.
