Dilwale has seen a very good advance despite there being a limited screenings opening advance due to programming not being complete due to the clash with Bajirao Mastaani.
The pre release ticket sales by the close of business on Thursday will be in the 11 crore nett region for the the three day weekend. The sales of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo were around 22 crore nett for its four day weekend but there the main multiplexes had opened advance on 3-4 screens and most single screens on Monday while here advance opened on some single screens and just one screen at multiplexes on Monday with it increasing on Wednesday. Also some screens will not open advance at all as programming will not be finished until evening.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo also had around 65% sales for the first day out of that 22 crore nett which was a huge holiday and here it is a normal weekend. Here the ratio is 50% for day one and rest for the next two days. Basically the sales are 50% of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with only 30% screnings of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo available for advance of Dilwale.
Advance tends to work differently in different areas, Delhi is underscrened so advance is normally better there, Mumbai is opposite but here as screens are being shared so advance in terms of ratio is better than normal. Then there is a circuit like West Bengal which hardly gets advance, forget advance the circuit hardly opens. But here the presence of Shahrukh Khan who is by far the biggest star in West Bengal will ensure a huge weekend irrespective of the advance and even a genre which tends to under perform in the circuit.
Bajirao Mastaani has had very limited screens open for advance and its final programming will probably finish just before release tomorrow morning due to issues with screen sharing especially in Delhi / UP and Maharashtra belt.
