The Punjabi film Angrej has emerged a blockbuster as it recorded collections of 3.75 crore nett in East Punjab and 30 lakhs nett plus in the rest of India for a total of 4 crore nett plus.
The opening in East Punjab was the third best ever and it should have done more than 3.75 crore nett over the weekend but hit capacity problems on Sunday as could not grow that much as screens space was also taken by Drishyam, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali (Hindi). The film was house full in practically all multiplexes of Punjab on Sunday. The release was limited outside East Punjab with even Delhi city having just a few shows.
The film has strong reports and is sure to hold strong on Monday and should go on to reach the 10 crore nett bennchmark in East Punjab. The collections may even go close to Friday figures looking at the Monday morning collections.
